Rules for the matches

 

1.- The matches will take place in Dos Hermanas from 17 to 21 April 2008 (both inclusive) with the following schedule:

Day 18 April 2008

Topalov-Polgar or Vallejo

4 games

Day 19 April 2008

Shirov-Polgar or Vallejo

4 games

Day 20 April 2008

Final Match for winners

4 games

Drawings lots will be place on 17 April at 20,00 hours.

 2.- Four games per day will be played with the following schedule:
1st at 16,30 hours
2nd at 17,30 hours
3rd at 18,30 hours
4th  at 19,30 hours
There will be 5 minutes break among the games. Each player will have 20 minutes+10 secons/move for the whole game.

3.- The public in the room will be able to see the demostration screens during the games.

4.- The players will grant a 10 minutes meeting with the press at the end of each daily session, which will take place immediately after the end of the last game.

5.- The games will be commented for the public by the Grand Masters Miguel Illescas and Michael Rahal  who will dispose of all the analyses of computers.

06.- The games will be played with the clock of the FIDE and FIDE rules for active chess.

07.- In a match of a draw it will be decided by a match. The match will consist of two games with a time-control 5 minutes per player + 3 seconds for every move played. In case of another tied result – there will be played a last “sudden-death” decisive game with a time-control 6 minutes for the whole game for the White-player and 5 minutes for the whole game for Black-player. The White-player will only need a victory in this game to win the tournament, whole the Black-player will win the tournament by just not losing that final decisive game.
